Tarcisio Meira Brazilian Actor (1935-2021)
He was best known to Brazilian television viewers as both Renato Villar on the 1980s serles “Roda de Fogo” and Cesar Toledo in “Torre de Babel” from 1998 to 1999.
He originally aspired to be a diplomat, but was rejected Rio Branco Institute and later turned to acting. In 1957, he began his acting career on the theatrical stage. Four years later, he made his television debut on the series “Maria Antonieta.” Besides “Roda de Fogo” and “Torre de Babel,” he went on to appear in such series as “Rosa Rebelde,” “Cavalo de Aco,” “Coracao Alado,” “Guerra dos Sexos,” “Patria Minha,” “Her Own Destiny,” “Irrational Heart,” and “Wounded Past.”
In 1963, he made his “big screen” debut in the film “Casinha Pequenina.” He went on to appear in such films as “A Desforra,” (1966) “Mascara da Traicao,” (1969) “Independencia ou Morte,” (1972) “The Age of the Earth,” (1980) “Love Strange Love,” (1982) and “Boca de Ouro.” (1990)
He was considered one of Brazil’s greatest television actors. He passed away after a battle with the Covid-19 virus.
