Former Prime Minister of Cameroon

Cameroonian Statesman. He served as the 5th Prime Minister of Cameroon from April 9, 1992 to September 19, 1996. After attending both public schools in Santa and Cameroon Protestant College, he went to University of Yaounde, where helped to create its Students Association.

He went on to continue his education in France. During the 1960s and early 1970s, he served in several government positions before stepping away from politics in 1975 to go into farming. After a few years away, he was elected to the National Assembly in the 1980s.

In 1992, he was appointed to the post of prime minister by President Paul Biya and served in this position until 1996, when he was replaced by Peter Mafany Musonge. He was later appointed chairman of the board of directors of the National Investment Corporation in March 2003.

He would continue to be involved in the political arena after serving in this post and in 2013, he was elected to the Senate. He passed away while in the United States for medical treatment.
