A member of the Republican Party, he served Texas’ 6th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives from 2019 until his death.
He attended the University of Texas, prior to serving on the Arlington City Council. Wright served as chief of staff for Texas Congressman Joe Barton and succeeded him in the US Congress.
During his tenure, he served on the Education and the Workforce and Foreign Affairs Committees. He died of complications from Covid-19 in addition to lung cancer.
