For seven seasons (1955 to 1961), he played at the catcher position with the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Athletics and Washington Senators.
Born Peter Harvey Daley, he attended Grass Valley High School in California. Signed as an amateur free agent by the Boston Red Sox in 1948, he served for two years with the United States Army prior to making his Major League debut on May 3rd, 1955.
In 1960, while with the Kansas City Athletics he produced a career high 60 hits. In 259 career regular season games, he compiled 259 hits, with a .239 lifetime batting average.
After retiring from baseball, Daley operated a bowling alley in the Boston-area and later returned to his native California where he sold beauty and health products.
