Dolores Garcia Tellez, better known as Lola Landa, was an influential activist on social issues, and the author of several books, including “Un modelo familiar para el siglo 21,” “La ecofamilia,” “La union con el Cristo cosmico,” and “Las nuevas comunidades humanas.

” She also wrote some children’s books, such as “Fabulas y relatos,” “Abuelita, ¿me cuentas un cuento?” and “El valor de la vejez.” She was founder of the Centro de Estudios Familiares, and the group Mujeres por Mexico in the 90s. She also was an independent candidate for the PAN for local deputy in the 80s. She is remembered for having delivered a speech on February 2, 1962 in front of the Government Palace that, among other changes, ordered the free textbook and that the hiring of teachers in private schools had to be approved by the State Department of Education.
