Gloria McMillan was an American actress who worked extensively in radio, but is perhaps best known for her role as Harriet Conklin, the student of Miss Brooks and the daughter of Principal Osgood Conklin, on the 1950s sitcom Our Miss Brooks.
She was best known to television viewers as Gloria Conklin, the daughter of Gale Gordon’s character Osgood Conklin, on the series “Our Miss Brooks” from 1952 to 1955. At the age of 4, she was singing on a local radio station in Portland, Oregon.
Her family later moved to Hollywood, where she began her acting career on the radio. Her first role on the radio came on the series “Big Town.” She went on to portray Gloria Conklin on the radio series “Our Miss Brooks.” This was a role she would carry on to both television and film.
Among her other television credits included such series as “Dr. Kildare,” “Most Wanted,” “Centennial,” and “Perfect Strangers.” She also made appearances on the theatrical stage. In her later years, she went into teaching drama.

On November 23, 1954, McMillan married Gilbert W. Allen, a senior at the University of Southern California, in Beverly Vista Community Church in Beverly Hills, California. The wedding had Our Miss Brooks connections, as Gale Gordon gave the bride away, Richard Crenna was an usher, and Eve Arden’s daughter was a junior bridesmaid. They had two sons and two daughters.
She was a member of Actors’ Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
