Gerald Home British Actor (1950-2021)
He was best known to the Star Wars film fans as Tessek and the Mon Calamari officer Captain Verrack in the 1983 film “Star Wars: Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.” He completed his education in Australia and began his acting training there before going back to England to complete his training at the Drama Studio London.
He graduated from there in 1977 and made his acting debut the following year in the film “The Thirty Nine Steps.” Besides “Return of the Jedi,” he appeared in the 2010 films “Chatroom” and “London Boulevard.”
He made his “small screen” debut in the series “The Boot Street Band” in 1993. His later television credits included “Harry’s Mad,” “Keeping Mum,” “Casualty,” and “Shane.”
He was also the original Mr. Muscle in the long running series of Mr. Muscle television commercials which were shown around the world, and he also made television commercials for Holland, Germany, Ireland and Belgium.
During his acting career, he also made appearances on the theatrical stage. He passed away after a battle with cancer.
