Gene Prebola American Football Player (1938-2021)
He was drafted in round 2 as the 1st. pick of the 1960 American Football League (AFL) draft as a tight end by the Houston Oilers. For 4 years he played for the Oakland Raiders (1960) and the Denver Broncos (1961-1963).
Prior to starting his professional career he attended Boston University where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1991. In his 4 year professional career of the 56 games he played in he started 50 of them, completed 133 reception for 1823 yards and scored 6 touchdowns.
After leaving his playing career he pursued a career in teaching and coaching for 32 years at Snyder High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. He also found time to return to school an earn his Master’s Degree from Montclair State University.
