Mexican Scientist, Researcher, Academic, Author. Pablo Mulás del Pozo was one of the most renowned scientists and researchers in the Mexican energy sector. In 1960 he received his degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He obtained his doctorate in engineering from Princeton University in 1965. In 1993 he received an honorary doctorate of science from the University of Salford, Great Britain.
His academic activities were carried out as a full professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), in the Department of Chemistry of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the IPN and in the Faculty of Engineering of the National.
Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He served as Director of the Nuclear Reactor Laboratories of the Nuclear Center of Mexico, Director of the Energy Sources Division and Executive Director of the Electric Research Institute (IIE), Coordinator of Advisors to the Secretary of Energy, Director of the University Energy Program from UNAM, advisor to the General Rectory of the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) and coordinator of the engineering area of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC).
He has participated in various national and international scientific and professional societies as well as in numerous steering and advisory committees in academic, industrial and publishing institutions. In 2016, he received the W. Bennett Lewis Award from the American Nuclear Society (ANS). He published several books, including “Aspectos Tecnológicos de la Modernización Industrial de México” (1995), “La tecnología en el contexto de los desarrollos social y económico” (1998), and “Compendio de informacion del sector energetico mexican” (1998).
