Journalist, Professor, Chronicler. Inocente Penaloza García worked for 23 years as a chronicler at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM). Peñaloza witnessed the transition from the Scientific and Literary Institute (ICLA) to the UAEM. That event occurred in 1956, when Peñaloza Garcia graduated from high school. He also held various positions on university campuses, including general coordinator of High Schools and Head of Didactics in 1987. In 1977 he was coordinator of High School No. 1 “Adolfo Lopez Mateos” and advisor in charge of High School No. 5 “Dr. Angel María Garibay.” Throughout his life he combined teaching with journalism.
He collaborated for “El Sol de Toluca” in the editorial area since 1982 with the weekly column “Portaleando.” He also collaborated in other local and university media with the authorship of several texts. In 1995, due to his career, he was awarded the Presea Estado de Mexico “Jose Maria Cos,” in the journalism and information category. At UAEM, he was awarded the “Manuel Buendía” Medal in 1994 and the Filem Award in 2019. Among his published works are “Mitos y leyendas del Estado de Mexico” (1992), “El origen del Estado de Mexico” (1999), “Toluca: sucesos del siglo XX” (2001), “El antiguo Beaterio de Toluca” (2003), and “De Tlalpan a Coatepec” (2008).
