Clement Mouamba Congolese Politician (1943-2021)
Congolese Statesman. He served as the Prime Minister of the Republic of the Congo from April 23, 2016 to May 12, 2021. From 1992 to 1993, he served as the Minister of Finance under President Pascal Lissouba.
After Lissouba was ousted in the 1997 civil war, he, as a member of the Pan-African Union for Social Democracy party, went into opposition. In 2001, he was one of several top officials, who served under Lissouba, to face corruption charges, but they were later dismissed.
After breaking with his party and taking part in negotiations with President Denis Sassou Nguesso to change the constitution, he was appointed prime minister in April of 2016.
He went on to serve in this position until May of 2021, when he stepped down. He passed away of Covid-19.
