Actor. Award winning actor of stage and screen, known for his roles in the box office movies “First Blood,” “Silverado,” “Cocoon,” and “Tommy Boy.”

He was frequently cast as a lawman, both on television and film. In “First Blood” (1982), the first installment of the Rambo film franchise, he gained public recognition as the bigoted Sheriff Will Teasle; and in “Silverado” he portrayed Cobb, an outlaw turned corrupt sheriff and hired gun for the local land baron. He portrayed homicide detective Jack Reed in a series of television movies, “Deadly Matrimony” (1992), “Jack Reed: Badge of Honor” (1993), “Jack Reed: A Search for Justice” (1994), “Jack Reed: One of Our Own” (1995), “Jack Reed: A Killer Among Us” (1996), and “Jack Reed: Death and Vengeance” (1996).

He also received the 1994 CableACE Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie and the 1999 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Play. He was nominated six times for an Emmy award for Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries in 1990, twice in 1992, 1993, 2000 and 2005.
