Betty Bobbitt (1939-2020)
American-Australian actress with a career spanning 6 decades, she will best be remembered as a founding cast member of ‘Prisoner’ as her portrayal of lesbian character Judy Bryant. Born in New York, Bobbitt moved to Los Angeles to act at age 18, then in 1962, she moved to Australia for what was meant to be a six month stay, but never left.

In 1979, she was offered a 13 week role on ‘Prisoner’ but ended up featured in 430 episodes. Bobbitt will also be remembered for appearances in the four ‘Crocodile Dundee’ films, and in such Australian television series as ‘Homicide,’ ‘Special Squad.’ ‘The Flying Doctors,’ ‘All Saints,’ ‘Marshall Law,’ ‘Blue Heelers’ and ‘Neighbours.’ Bobbitt died five days after suffering a massive stroke.
