Actor. He was an Italian-American actor best known for his roles in ‘Grand Prix’ (1966) and ‘Escape From the Bronx’ (1983). Sabáto first appeared in the 1966 Italian film ‘Lo Scandalo.’
That same year he starred in ‘Grand Prix,’ an American film with an international cast of actors that went on to win three Academy awards.

Over the next two decades, Sabáto appeared in several more films, such as ‘Hate For Hate’ (1967), ‘Barbarella’ (1968), ‘Those Who Kill’ (1970), ‘Crime Boss’ (1972), ‘Calling All Police Cars’ (1975), ‘War of the Robots’ (1978) and ‘The Wild Team’ (1985).
In the mid 1980s, he immigrated to the U.S. with his family, where he continued acting on television in such series as ‘Bride of Violence’ and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’ Sabáto, who was the father of actor Anonio Sabáto, Jr., died of complications related to Covid-19.
